Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN Concentration) program is designed to offer currently practicing Registered Nurses the opportunity to advance their nursing career to the next level. It is intended for students who are already Registered Nurses (RNs) who hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma from an accredited agency and who wish to gain expertise in leadership, evidence-based practice, and public health. Graduates of the program are prepared for roles such as Nurse Leader, Unit Manager, Nurse Case Manager, or Health Policy Nurse in industries including hospitals, community health organizations, healthcare administration, and specialized nursing (like travel nursing or hospice). The curriculum emphasizes integrating research, leadership skills, and Christian values into nursing care with opportunities for utilizing information management and patient care technology more effectively. The degree requires a total of 120 credit hours, of which 33 hours are in the foundational core, 48 hours are in the major core, and 39 hours are Divine Design elective credit hours of which 30 hours will be considered for credit for the RN licensure. For students wishing to continue their studies, this program prepares them for future graduate or professional study in Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Clinical Doctorate (DNP) programs that lead to roles like Nurse Executive, Nurse Educator, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
